Until now, I was having absolutely no luck at all with the latest
Photo Friday "clean" theme. Over the past week, I've taken more photos for this theme than I care to remember. I shot a variety of subjects -- some stretching the interpretation of the theme to limits even I couldn't understand in the end. Everything from a broom in a dirty alley, to the caretaker at work squeegeeing the revolving door. I shot containers of barbacide (comb disinfectant) when I got my hair cut. I even (shudder the thought) took a macro shot of a flower.
I was just about to give up when this morning I finally got my inspiration as I was getting ready for work. I think I must have had
Dave and
Sam's wonderful
flash experiments on the brain when I stepped in to the shower, because as soon as I turned on the taps it finally hit me. So I took several shots, of which this one is my favourite. This is my first real attempt at experimenting with flash to freeze motion. The
rest of the series for this theme can be found over in the
b-list gallery associated with this post.
Shot in AP mode, spot metering, F3, with the flash in slow-sync mode. On-camera flash bounced off the palm of my hand. Some minor levels adjustment applied in post.
And no, I don't normally shower with my camera... ;)
